Bond Yield

16 June 2025

It is: The return an investor earns from a bond, usually shown as a percentage.

For example: If you buy a $1,000 bond that pays $50 a year, the yield is 5%.

Why it matters: Yields help investors compare different bonds. Rising yields can signal higher interest rates or lower bond prices, and they often affect stock market performance too.
